Grenada

Political journey

A British colony until 1974, Grenada saw its revolutionary government under Maurice Bishop overthrown in 1983, which prompted a US-led invasion. Democracy returned soon after. Hurricane Ivan devastated the island in 2004, and it now lives from tourism and spices, with Dickon Mitchell as prime minister since 2022.
