Akbar

Mughal Emperor, 1556 to 1605

Expanded the Mughal Empire and ruled with unusual religious tolerance, ending the tax on non-Muslims and hosting debates among faiths.

Akbar sits in the left-authoritarian part of the Caucus economy and liberty compass: slightly state-led and strongly authoritarian. The clearest positions are strongly authoritarian on liberty and authority, strongly interventionist on interventionism and strongly strength-first on war and peace. The profile is close to the middle on environment and religion.
