Cyrus the Great

Founder of the Persian Empire, c. 559 to 530 BCE

Built the largest empire the world had yet seen and freed captive peoples. The Cyrus Cylinder is often cited as an early statement of tolerance.

Cyrus the Great sits in the right-authoritarian part of the Caucus economy and liberty compass: slightly free market and strongly authoritarian. The clearest positions are strongly interventionist on interventionism, strongly strength-first on war and peace and strongly authoritarian on liberty and authority. The profile is close to the middle on environment.
