Julius Caesar

Roman dictator, 49 to 44 BCE

Conquered Gaul, won a civil war and was made dictator for life before senators assassinated him in 44 BCE, hastening the end of the Roman Republic.

Julius Caesar sits in the left-authoritarian part of the Caucus economy and liberty compass: slightly state-led and strongly authoritarian. The clearest positions are strongly interventionist on interventionism, strongly strength-first on war and peace and strongly authoritarian on liberty and authority.
